BBC Two – Britain in a Day
As part of the cultural olympiad, Terri Sweeney produced the BBC Learning campaign to engage UK wide audiences to film themselves over one day, culminating in a feature length documentary edited by Morgan Matthews for BBC TWO – Britain in a Day. The crowdsourced documentary was made in conjunction with YouTube and commissioned by the BBC and Scott Free Films London.
BBC Television News and Current Affairs
Terri Sweeney worked on a number of TV news programmes including: The Politics Show, BBC North West Tonight and BBC Breakfast. She’s also secured news stories and guests on magazine programme, The One Show and across regional TV News bulletins, including BBC London.
During various BBC campaigns, Terri worked to ensure ‘calls to action’ across various programmes to promote campaigns. These included, EastEnders, Springwatch, Stargazing, Autumnwatch, Doctors, and regional programme ‘opts’ including Inside Out.
As a network radio producer of ‘social action’ campaigns in London at BBC Radio 1, Radio 2, 5 Live and 6 Music, Terri raised awareness on subjects including; race & religion, drugs, sexual health, the environment, self-harm and suicide, voting & elections, looked after children, asylum seeking and a plethora of social, political and educational campaigns.
She worked as a campaigns producer on flagship programmes – Radio 2’s Jeremy Vine show, Steve Wright in the Afternoon, 5 Live’s Simon Mayo afternoon show, and Radio 1’s Sunday Surgery programmes as well as ensuring content across all programmes on these network stations for campaigns.
While at Radio 2, Terri also produced Children in Need online for two consecutive years.
Terri has provided content and guests, and been interviewed herself as a spokesperson for BBC campaigns on a majority of the 40 BBC Local Radio stations across the UK.
